Emmanuel Perez, a Northern Arizona-bound senior at Cathedral High in Los Angeles, placed second in the boys invitational mile in 4:09.54 at the Meet of Champions Distance Classic at Azusa Pacific University. Perez also produced a 1,600-meter split of 4:08.07.
