L'Mio Edwards, a Penn-bound senior at Claremont High in California, placed second in the girls invitational 800 meters in a lifetime-best 2:06.01 at the Meet of Champions Distance Classic at Azusa Pacific University. Edwards was one of three competitors who ran faster than the previous meet record of 2:07.31 achieved in 2021 by former Crescenta Valley High standout Mia Barnett.
